The new Jaguar XJ at the Frankfurt Motor Show
So is there anything new to say? Not really, but what we do know is worth repeating. The new XJ is a big departite in style from the iconic – and original – XJ.
Detroit knows how to do car shows. Perhaps no area in the country outside of Pebble Beach can put on a multiday, multievent festival of sheetmetal in the manner in which the Motor City can. It's intrinsic, at times it's altruistic--but it's always about the cars.

It's just the same old Defender, isn't it? It sure is, but Land Rover says it has been comprehensively upgraded. That’s good news: a replacement is some years away and the current car has roots dating back to 1948.
